Applying for funding doesn’t take much energy

Of course, we need your details to make an accurate assessment.

While collecting them, we try to keep you from providing too much information or filling in too many forms. A lot of the information we ask of you will be generated by you as you build your lean start-up.

Therefore, we consider it essential that you are supported by Braventure. You’ll start your application with one of Braventure’s business developers. The time it takes to process your application depends on the phase of your plan when you apply with your Braventure business developer. As soon as the application is complete, we aim for a timeframe of 5 weeks to process your application.

Stages:

Step 1
In order to apply for funding, you need to be enrolled as a student or an employee at Tilburg University, Avans University of Applied Sciences or Breda University of Applied Sciences You are also required to seek support from a Braventure business developer at one of these institutions. Register with the Braventure business developer at your institution.
Step 2
You develop your idea and convert it to a funding application. You’ll receive the proper application form from your Braventure business developer.
Step 3
You digitally submit your funding application at Starterslift Investments.

Along with your application you should submit:
- Records from the Municipal Personal Records Database (Gemeentelijke Basis Administratie (GBA) in Dutch);
- Your CV (or CVs in the case of multiple entrepreneurs);
- “De-minimis” declaration (a declaration that makes you eligible for government support);
- Records from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (if you are already registered);
- SME (Small Medium Enteprise) declaration;
- Declaration of integrity;
- Liquid and exploitation budget (for applications ≥ € 7.500,-).
Your Braventure business developer has the correct forms to aid you in requesting these applications and permits.
Step 4
Starterslift Investments checks if your application is complete, discusses the application with your Braventure business developer and decides whether or not you are invited to give a presentation to the investment committee of Starterslift Investments.

Should you be approved, you will present your start-up to the investment committee of Starterslift Investments. They will ask you some critical questions. The investment committee consists of experienced entrepreneurs/managers with a financial background, experience with start-ups and/or knowledge of certain sectors. It is your task to convince the investment committee to grant you funding. The investment committee has the options to grant funding, grant funding under certain conditions or refuse your application.

It is not possible to make an appeal against this decision.
Step 5
If you are granted funding, a contract will be composed which contains agreements about the duration, interest rate, the interest-only period, acceleration, etc. If you are married or in a registered partnership, the contract must be signed by your partner as well, because it is a personal loan.
Step 6
Start investing. We will transfer the money as soon as possible. In order to do this, supply Starterslift Investments with copies of invoices and proofs of payment.
